Can't Believe It!

I was just checking my email and a friend had sent me a link to this crazy site. I honestly can't believe it but it has the very thing I have been ranting about all night. Horrible music!!!

I was laughing so hard it took a while to remember to share this with you. Isn't that a random coincidence?!? Well, after you click on the link I am sure that you will see that the music isn't the only thing wrong with the site. :)

Honestly, I am not sure what the site is all about. I am not familiar with the language. I am familiar with the horrible design flaws though! We are looking at a weird combination of random images, flashing text, horrible colors, impossible design, and a link to "kocktails" that gives you a recipe for a drink called "Jamaican Fever." Maybe it helps to be a little bit tipsy if you are going to spend a lot of time on the this site.

Alright, I promise I am done for tonight. Happy Halloween everyone! I hope it was a wonderful one for you, your family, and your friends. I am off to watch a scary movie!

Can You Show Me?

Of course, it seems like I just can't tell you everything on my mind in one post. The minute I hit publish I find myself wishing I had shared more. Tonight, you might just have to deal with me and let me get all that is on my mind out.

You know what bothers me more than horrible music? Well, I have no problem telling you what it is. What bothers me the most on any good or rancid site I visit is the ads. Ads can be overwhelming. You can pay a qualified designed a good amount of money to build you a completely clean, beautiful site. Then it can get ruined for a great deal of your visitors with ads.

Society today is simply bombarded with ads. We are sold things every where we go and during just about everything we do. If you want people to stay on your site and enjoy being there it is up to you to keep the ads under control. Here is my tip for the day... enjoy all the Halloween candy you want keep the ads to a minimum. :) That's not that hard to follow right?!? Happy Halloween everyone!

Heard Around the World

Alright, I would first like to start this blog by saying HAPPY HALLOWEEN! I hope you are enjoying it and had the chance to dress up! I decided to spend my last few hours of Halloween a little bit differently than I normally do. Instead of running the streets looking for horrible scary costumes I decided to search the net for horrible scary sites. It dawned on me that I have spent so much time talking about bad design that I might of forgotten one important piece of horrible, scary sites. The one important piece is the music.

A site can be made or broken with the music. Music that is too loud, annoying, or inappropriate can destroy a site that was designed with care. Music can drive the visitor crazy. Music can make them launch towards their speakers and turn the dial off. Music can be a deal breaker.

On the positive side, some songs are actually appropriate on some site. Think of a soothing song a a luxury spa website. Maybe even a popular sports tune while you check up on your favorite team. The point here is simple and easy to understand. When you are reviewing sites it is important to look and it is just as important to listen.

What Is It I Am Not Getting?!

It recently dawned on me that no matter how many bad sites I locate and share with you there is still one question that always will remain unanswered. Who in the world is building these sites?

Honestly, that is the question on my mind today. If you spend some time online each week it isn't hard to locate a site or two that makes you question their existence. Some sites may even make you wonder who is spending the time to create such tacky, unreadable pages. Others might even make you wonder who has the time to create such mind-blowing, ugly sites. The answer is not easy.

Sure, I know there are some designers that make fake sites just to show how bad design can destroy a website or a company. Yet, I am still at a loss at who makes up the remainder of the people creating some of the sites that I have shared with you so far. Are they bored? Maybe they just have extremely bad taste. Some people still do rock a fanny pack so maybe these are the same people using unreadable copy, horrific color combinations, and nauseating images. What do you think? What is it that I am not getting?

And, I Am Back

I honestly had to step away from the computer for a few moments. Every time I clicked on the site and tried to review the landing page I started to see spots and my eyes refused to focus on the page. Those flashing dogs could give anyone a headache. How can the creator think that this design was a good idea? How could they even focus to create this kind of color and design work?

I guess the only thing I have left to say is... who created this? I was able to click on one of the links on the home page and it brought me to another page that is equally as weird. As I mentioned before, this site seems to be an outlet for the cartoonist to share their work. Do yourself a favor and let the clip play on the introduction to the cartoon characters. You are sure to laugh. I laughed due to the insanely horrible humor and I would love to hear what you thought about this.

All in all it seems like the perfect cartoon for a site like this. The characters are just as odd as the site design. Odd. Odd. Odd.

Bring Asprin

Caution... if you have a hard time with ugly, flashing, annoying websites then don't click here!!!! So, did you click? Well, if you are currently unable to focus your eyes I am going to assume that you clicked. This site met all of my bad site standards and still gave us more.

Rule 1 The Color Theory: More Is Better
Um... I am not even sure where to start here. I guess I could focus on the oddly colored rainbow or maybe even the dog. Yet, it is extremely hard to look at those images without having your attention grabbed by the flashing dogs. Yellow, blue, brown, and black have never looked so bad.

Rule 2 Can You Add Anything Else?
Honestly, I am not even sure what the content or the purpose of this is supposed to be. One could only think that this is a cartoonist who wants to display their drawings. I mean, what else could it be?!

Rule 3 What Am I Looking At?
You know, this kind of goes without saying. This site breaks this rule so many times I don't even want to list out the infractions.

Rule 4 All of This Flashing Is Burning My Eyes
Duh! I can only look at this page for a few seconds before my eyes begin to twitch and I begin to get a small yet extremely noticeable headache. In fact, I have to stop for now. Let's discuss this one when I stop seeing spots.
